Committee Postings

Why join the District Conference committee?
We are a team of Rotarians from all around the district who come together to pull off the district's largest event of the year. The purpose of the event is to educate and inspire our members to accomplish more, celebrate all the hard work we have done in our "free time" over the previous year and lift up Service Above Self. It is a very rewarding project to be a part of and you will learn a lot about Rotary, our district and the wonderful clubs that are a part of it!

Most positions require a multi-year commitment as familiarity with the planning process is key to a successful event each year and it allows for time to train a successor. Since this is a big committee and an event with a lot of history, most plans come together easily and are in large part a team effort. Commitment starts with monthly meetings in the fall and progresses to more meetings and communication as conference nears in the spring. As with almost all Rotary positions, the pay is not commiserate with experience or commitment to the cause (because it's volunteer), but you are rewarded with great appreciation from all around the district, growth in your network of Rotarians by working with members from multiple clubs in 7150 and your name in the program book!
